L'Umana Reyer è lieta di comunicare la firma dell’accordo di collaborazione con il club islandese Athena Basketball che entra a far parte del Progetto Reyer. Salgono a 45 le società aderenti di cui 4 europee: Košarkaški klub “Flumen Sancti Viti” di Rijeka (Croazia), Kosarkaski Klub Stoja di Pula (Croazia), Portorož Basketball Club di Portorose (Slovenia) e appunto Athena Basketball. Il Progetto Reyer supera dunque i 7000 atleti.

Athena è un club di basket fondato il 19 giugno 2019 a Reykjavík, in Islanda, con l'obiettivo di promuovere lo sport femminile e la partecipazione sportiva degli immigrati di seconda generazione in Islanda.
Nonostante la sua giovane età, il club vanta uno dei migliori programmi di basket in Islanda inclusi corsi di coaching, allenamento della forza e leadership. Alle giovani giocatrici viene data ogni opportunità per migliorare il loro gioco e migliorare come leader, dentro e fuori dal campo, sostenendo i valori su cui è stato fondato il Club per portare avanti la sua mission nel futuro.
