Un Canestro per l’inclusione: un allenamento speciale per una giornata indimenticabile.

Il progetto dell'Umana Reyer Venezia non riguarda solamente le squadre di basket, ma mira ad essere un punto di riferimento per la comunità. Il suo impegno va oltre lo sport, abbracciando valori fondamentali come l’inclusione, l’amicizia e lo spirito di collettività, elementi chiave per la crescita delle persone e del territorio.

Tra le iniziative sociali più significative della Reyer spiccano il Progetto One Team, realizzato in collaborazione con Euroleague Basketball, e il Basket Unificato, promosso insieme alla Polisportiva Terraglio. Proprio nella palestra di via Arturo Penello si è svolto un allenamento speciale, che ha visto protagonisti i ragazzi della comunità CO.GE.S. Don Lorenzo Milani e gli atleti della squadra di Basket Unificato Reyer.

È stata un’ora e mezza di sport, ma soprattutto di amicizia, collaborazione e inclusione. All’evento hanno partecipato anche Juan Manuel Fernandez e Davide Casarin, ambassador del Progetto One Team. I ragazzi del CO.GE.S. Don Milani si sono messi alla prova in gare di abilità, dimostrando progressi sia sul piano sportivo che umano, grazie al percorso intrapreso con il programma One Team.

Ma, più di tutto, è stata una festa di integrazione: i partecipanti sono stati divisi in squadre miste, favorendo così l’interazione e rendendo l’esperienza ancora più speciale.

Il Progetto Reyer One Team

One Team è il programma di responsabilità sociale d'impresa (CSR) di Euroleague Basketball, sostenuto da Turkish Airlines e dai club fondatori con la collaborazione di Special Olympics come Partner e utilizza il basket per ottenere un impatto sociale reale nelle nostre comunità.

Per la 4^ stagione consecutiva la Reyer ha scelto per il progetto One Team l’associazione CO.GE.S. Don Lorenzo Milani Società cooperativa sociale per far sì che lo sport sia un veicolo di integrazione sociale.

CO.GE.S. si occupa di minori residenti momentaneamente privi di cure parentali, minori in stato di abbandono e/o sottoposti a procedimento del Tribunale, minori stranieri non accompagnati, minori stranieri richiedenti asilo.
Ospitandoli nelle loro strutture residenziali, creano loro un percorso, fornendo gli strumenti necessari per affrontare la vita nella società quando divenuti maggiorenni dovranno abbandonare la comunità.

Il progetto consiste in un minimo di 8 incontri tra ragazzi e il mondo Reyer, capitanati dagli Ambasciatori Davide Casarin e Juan Fernandez, duranti i quali potranno allenarsi con i coach del settore giovanile Reyer, confrontarsi, assistere alle partite, conoscere i giocatori da vicino così da sentirsi parte di una grande famiglia, della comunità e avere degli idoli di vita positivi.

I ragazzi, per la maggior parte volti nuovi del programma One Team, stanno partecipando con entusiasmo agli allenamenti che vengono svolti al Palasport Ancilotto di Mestre. La referente del progetto orogranata è Roberta Meneghel, del reparto marketing e sociale Reyer. Marco Mainente, coach del settore giovanile orogranata, è il responsabile tecnico One Team e organizza giochi e attività mirati alla conoscenza e alla presa di confidenza con la pallacanestro.

Il progetto è svolto in partnership con l'azienda Galentis - il cui CEO Luca Zambelli partecipa attivamente anche agli allenamenti - e promuove una serie di incontri tra ragazzi e il mondo Reyer. Oltre agli allenamenti, infatti, i ragazzi della comunità hanno la possibilità di interagire con diverse persone dell'organizzazione Reyer, partecipando anche alle partite, così da sentirsi parte di una grande famiglia e avere degli e esempi di vita positivi.

Basket Unificato Reyer

L'Umana Reyer Venezia, in collaborazione con la Polisportiva Terraglio SSD, ha costituito la squadra orogranata di Basket Unificato.
La squadra affianca le formazioni di Serie A femminile e maschile in un importante progetto che vede protagonisti sport, integrazione ed amicizia.

Certamente il team dell'Umana Reyer è in cerca di successi sul campo, ma la vera vittoria è l'impegno ad abbattere barriere, sfidare stereotipi e ispirare le persone, e anche altre società, a seguire questo esempio di inclusione, attraverso il nostro sport.

Il progetto promuove la cultura del rispetto e dell’accettazione a beneficio in particolare dei giovani, ma anche dell’intera comunità attraverso lo sport unificato, per abbattere tutte le barriere, tra cui anche la barriera della differenza di genere.

Il basket unificato è disciplinato dal movimento globale Special Olympics che, attraverso lo sport di squadra unificato, sta creando un nuovo mondo fatto di inclusione e rispetto, dove ogni singola persona viene accettata e accolta, indipendentemente dalla sua capacità o disabilità.

Vengono coinvolti, in formazioni miste di uomini e donne, atleti con disabilità intellettive e senza disabilità (giocatori denominati Partner) che compiono insieme un percorso di allenamento e di crescita culminando nelle partite in occasione di un evento locale, nazionale o internazionale organizzato da Special Olympics.

Lo sport unificato si ispira ad un principio semplice: allenarsi, giocare e divertirsi insieme è il modo più immediato per far comprendere importanti valori come l’inclusione e l’amicizia.

La Reyer è la prima società sportiva di basket professionistico ad avere sotto lo stesso nome una squadra di A1 maschile, una squadra di A1 femminile e ora una squadra di Basket Unificato.

A Basket for Inclusion: A Special Training Session for an Unforgettable Day

The Umana Reyer Venezia project is not just about basketball teams; it aims to be a reference point for the community. Its commitment goes beyond sports, embracing fundamental values such as inclusion, friendship, and community spirit—key elements for the growth of individuals and the region.

Among Reyer’s most significant social initiatives are the One Team Project, carried out in collaboration with Euroleague Basketball, and Unified Basketball, promoted together with Polisportiva Terraglio. A special training session took place at the Arturo Penello gym, featuring the young members of the CO.GE.S. Don Lorenzo Milani community and the athletes of the Reyer Unified Basketball team.

It was an hour and a half of sports, but above all, of friendship, collaboration, and inclusion. The event was also attended by Juan Manuel Fernandez and Davide Casarin, ambassadors of the One Team Project. The CO.GE.S. Don Milani participants challenged themselves in skill competitions, demonstrating progress both athletically and personally, thanks to the journey undertaken with the One Team program.

More than anything, it was a celebration of integration: participants were divided into mixed teams, encouraging interaction and making the experience even more special.

The Reyer One Team Project

One Team is Euroleague Basketball’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, supported by Turkish Airlines and the founding clubs, in collaboration with Special Olympics as a partner. It leverages basketball to create real social impact in our communities.

For the fourth consecutive season, Reyer has chosen the CO.GE.S. Don Lorenzo Milani Social Cooperative Association for the One Team project to ensure that sports serve as a vehicle for social integration.

CO.GE.S. supports minors who are temporarily without parental care, abandoned children, minors under court proceedings, unaccompanied foreign minors, and asylum-seeking foreign minors. By hosting them in residential facilities, they provide a structured path, equipping them with the necessary tools to face life in society when they reach adulthood and leave the community.

The project consists of at least eight meetings between these young participants and the Reyer world, led by Ambassadors Davide Casarin and Juan Fernandez. During these sessions, they can train with Reyer’s youth coaches, interact, attend games, and get to know players up close—allowing them to feel part of a big family and find positive role models in life.

Most of the participants are new to the One Team program, and they are enthusiastically taking part in training sessions at the Palasport Ancilotto in Mestre. The project’s Reyer coordinator is Roberta Meneghel from the marketing and social department, while Marco Mainente, a youth sector coach, serves as the technical manager, organizing games and activities to help participants become familiar with basketball.

The project is carried out in partnership with Galentis, whose CEO, Luca Zambelli, actively participates in training sessions. Beyond the training itself, young community members have the opportunity to interact with various Reyer staff members and attend games, reinforcing their sense of belonging to a larger family and providing them with positive life examples.

Reyer Unified Basketball

Umana Reyer Venezia, in collaboration with Polisportiva Terraglio SSD, has established the gold-and-maroon Unified Basketball team. This team joins the men’s and women’s Serie A teams in an important project that promotes sports, integration, and friendship.

Of course, Umana Reyer’s teams strive for success on the court, but the true victory lies in their commitment to breaking down barriers, challenging stereotypes, and inspiring people—and other organizations—to follow this example of inclusion through basketball.

The project fosters a culture of respect and acceptance, benefiting young people in particular, but also the entire community, by promoting unified sports to eliminate all barriers, including gender differences.

Unified basketball is regulated by the global Special Olympics movement, which, through unified team sports, is creating a new world of inclusion and respect, where every individual is accepted and welcomed, regardless of ability or disability.

Mixed-gender teams include athletes with intellectual disabilities and athletes without disabilities (known as Partners) who train and grow together, culminating in games at local, national, or international events organized by Special Olympics.

Unified sports are based on a simple principle: training, playing, and having fun together is the most effective way to foster important values such as inclusion and friendship.

Reyer is the first professional basketball club to have, under the same name, a men’s A1 team, a women’s A1 team, and now a Unified Basketball team.
